Trauma Competent Churches
Mar 8, 2019 by Jonathan Reid
God is doing some amazing things in New England as an increasing number of Christians are extending God’s love to some of our most vulnerable neighbors–youth living in foster care.
As Christians open their homes to children in need, they are also inviting them into their local church communities. While this is an incredible opportunity for the church to grow in discipleship, it also begs two questions:
- “Are church communities prepared to compassionately and competently serve these precious lives?”
- “Do foster and adoptive families in our churches feel safe and supported?”
Trauma Competent Churches (TCC) is a faith-informed, trauma-informed training that equips children and student ministry leaders, volunteers, and staff to compassionately and competently serve children and youth from hard places, including foster care.
We are pleased to announce two upcoming opportunities to participate in TCC training. We invite you to come with others from your church!
- On March 30th from 9 AM to 12:30 PM, we are partnering with Grace Church in Avon, MA. The training location is 101 Wales Avenue, Avon, MA. For more information and to register, follow this Eventbrite link.
- On April 13th from 9 AM to 12:30 PM, we are partnering with Christ Community Church and Grace Harbor Church in Providence, RI. The training location is 47 Fenner Street, Providence, RI. For more information and to register, follow this Eventbrite link.
If you would like promotional slides or postcard files to promote at your church, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Feel free to reach out with any questions. We hope to see you and others from your church at one of the training events!
